The Borla has some drone in 6th gear below 70-75 mph. All systems (except Corsa) will have some drone to them. As far as sound goes, IMO, it's Borla or nothing! Magnaflow does/did make a catback kit for those cars. We ran one on our 2002, sounded decent though, I personally preferred the supercharger sound to be loud when the go pedal was pushed. Welds failed on the resonator and the warranty was bullshit. The stainless was 409 and it will still oxidize.

I have also heard a Borla cat-back exhaust on a moderately built Subaru Legacy 2.5GT and it sounds amazing. It's very quiet while cruising or slow acceleration but when the throttle is opened up, it roars. I would choose Borla because it's a little more subtle than the Magnaflow. Unless of course you want the opposite, it's all preference.
